WMA: Now that the motocross
season is officially over what are you up to?
SW: Well, I have been up to a lot
actually. I am still training hard and riding lots (except now I
am home in the snow) but I have been spreading my wings a little
and trying some new things. I did a half marathon back in
October. It was hard to train for because the weather was so
cruddy and the day of the race it was only 36 degrees and
raining, it was so cold I couldn’t warm my muscles up and ended
up throwing my back out, but I still ended up finishing 14th in
my division - finishing the 13.1 miles in 2:16. It’s not a great
time by any means, but it was fun for sure. I also just had my
first belt test in Karate and Ju Jitsu. I’m not very good at it
,but it’s fun to learn and also good training.
WMA: How else are you preparing for the 08 MX season?
SW: I will be going to California right after Christmas to
ride and train. I will be working hard.
WMA: I know you are going to be riding a Suzuki in 08’,
what’s is your new program? Any other new sponsors?
SW: Well, a lot of things are still up in the air for now.
All I know for sure is I will be on Suzuki. I have ridden the
bike for about 3 weeks, and just stock, but I like it a lot. I
feel very comfortable on it.
WMA: When does the race season officially start for you?
SW: First round of WMA. I’m not sure if I will be doing any
Texas races or not in March, but I will hopefully be racing all
winter long in California.
WMA: How is your blog (www. sarahwhitmoremx.blogspot.com)
doing?
SW: It is going well I think. I was bummed I don’t have my
column anymore (in Racer X). I really enjoyed writing it, but
the Blog is cool too and it gives me a little more freedom. I
can talk about anything I want, and as much as I want.
WMA: Do you have any other news for us?
SW: Umm, there really isn’t anything new going on just yet. It’s
been a pretty boring off season, I just cant wait for the season
to start again!
