Congratulations Jolene on First FMX Event WMA Pro Racer
# 63 and top Canadian female racer Jolene Van Vugt did her first
FMX show in Vienna, Austria two weeks ago. The event called the
Masters of Dirt included ten Pro FMX athletes including Ronnie
Renner and Derek Garland, 20 Pro BMX athletes, and a Freestyle
Snowmobile athlete. With only three weeks to prepare, Jolene
(known for back-flipping her Suzuki ramp to dirt and jumping
into the grand canyon on her bike in the Nitro Circus videos)
performed FMX for the first time in front of a sold crowd of
10,000 people. "I had standing ovations at
both shows, it was amazing! Before this I had never jumped
indoors, or ramp to dirt in front of more than like 10-15
people, it was an awesome rush and all very overwhelming. All I
want to do is get better and do it more!" said Van Vugt. Jolene finished 10th in the
WMA Championship in 2004. She will be racing select rounds of
the AMA/WMA National Championship this summer. Check out her bio at
